Building the Future of the Great Lakes, Together

The Great Lakes Human Capital Network was born out of a belief that the most complex challenges we face as human capital leaders are best solved when we talk with each other.

After spending time working on the coasts, Anthony and Scott noticed a growing number of networks that were popping up in cities like Washington D.C., New York, and San Francisco. The idea behind these was to bring leaders from across industries and sectors together to engage in unlikely conversations to try to better understand policy and business issues and build actionable solutions.

Anthony and Scott, two Midwest natives, also have a deep belief in the Great Lakes region and the opportunity the region has to once again become a talent magnet in over the next quarter century. Doing so, however, requires cross sector conversation between policymakers, business leaders, and higher education institutions. These conversations are what the Great Lakes Human Capital Network attempts to facilitate.

The GLHCN aims to take the most complex issues facing the workforce today and understand how they are showing up in the Great Lakes Region. Through research, interviews, and monthly events; the Network aims to help leaders think more strategically about the human capital challenges they face and most importantly, come together to help solve them.

The Great Lakes Region has the opportunity to reclaim its place as a talent and economic powerhouse. But it requires us coming together for unconventional conversations to find unconventional solutions. The Great Lakes Human Capital Network provides a place for leaders who believe in that mission to help make it a reality, together.
